Reminder: Queer Spirit Meditation Group @ Wed Oct 28 7pm – 8pm (Queer Things)

Queer Spirit Meditation Group

Stress? Life issues? Health concerns? A deeper spiritual quest? Learn how to unleash the power of applied mediation. Will Roscoe, acclaimed author and queer spiritual teacher, is starting a group in San Francisco for glbt people and queer folks. Meeting weekly, group members will learn the technique of applied meditation (created by Margo Adair and Tools for Change) which uses proven methods of relaxation, guided visualization, symbol-making, and affirmations. Will combines these techniques with his knowledge of worldwide queer spiritual traditions, including the Native American two-spirit, to create powerful explorations of our inner selves and the deeper meaning of our sexuality. Energy circles will also provide members an opportunity to work on personal issues.

Another very special feature of the group will be the use of the Symmetricon-the projecting kaleidoscope invented by the late John Burnside, which, through symmetry and color, produces a state of relaxation and invigoration. Will's is one of the few working models of this delightful device in existence.

The group is tentatively scheduled to meet weekly on Wednesdays at 7 pm beginning March 11. To join please e-mail willrsf@sbcglobal.net
