Faetopia Festival at vacant Tower Records at Market & Noe

Remixing the Past and Present to Create Future Utopias

"FAETOPIA FESTIVAL" BRINGS ARTS + ECOLOGY
TO VACANT TOWER RECORDS STOREFRONT

WHERE: Tower Records at 2278 Market & Noe St in the Castro District.

WHEN: Pride Week 2010 Sunday June 20-June 26th, 2010

WHO: Comfort & Joy
Co-sponsored by Café Flore & the Church of Nomenus
Art Direction by Chickpea (Gay Glo) http://www.gaygloshow.com/

WHAT:
Prepare for a wildly unique arts and ecology experience at the
long-vacant Tower Records space at Market and Noe. Faetopia Festival
transforms an empty storefront into visions of the future utopias we can
create versus the dystopias that surround us today.
Featuring local artistry, an EcoHomo ecology center, performance art,
cuddle cinema and workshops throughout the week, Faetopia redefines
how space can be used to grow our community.

Events kick off with "Dystopia Day' on Sunday June 20th. Experience a
crude awakening to our oil addiction then learn about actions you can
take and local organizations working to reduce our energy dependence.
Watch muscled boys slip and slide with Oil Slick Wrestling, a
fundraiser for Gulf Coast organizations working to rescue wildlife
affected by the Deepwater oil spill.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

-----> A theatrical revival of Science Fiction cult classic "ALIENS
CUT MY HAIR", a film shot locally in San Francisco during the 1990s,
REMIXED with fresh live talent. This production is a tribute to the
radical queers who shape our culture both yesterday & today, with
famed local performers Suppositori Spelling, Veronica Klaus, Elvis
Herselvis, Artist Malcolm Drake, Serendipity Jones, Veda de Voe,
Duplicity Dilemma and many others.
