Queer Comical Night, January 27th at Readers Cafe And Bookstore
WHAT: Friends of the San Francisco Public Library and Qcomedy Showcase
Present: Queer Comical Night, An Evening Of Readings, Art,
Performance, And Stand-up By Funny Queer And Queer-friendly Creators.
Our January 27th event features comedian and author Betsy Salkind,
writer, publisher and musician Larry-Bob Roberts, Baruch Porras-Hernandez,
Loren Kraut, and Lynn Ruth Miller
with host Nick Leonard.
Part of Readers Cafe & Bookstore's Thursdays at Readers series,
featuring specially priced drinks and snacks, literary themed events,
such as movies, poetry readings and more.

BETSY SALKIND
The Boston Globe said, "there are countless ways to make someone
laugh, and Betsy Salkind knows most of them. Want sarcastic wit?
Political humor? Or maybe just a good animal mime? Salkind can pull
all that off and more. Best known as 'Squirrel Lady,' Betsy has
appeared on "Girls Night Out," "Last Comic Standing," and "The Tonight
Show with Jay Leno."
Betsy was a staffwriter for SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL and ROSEANNE, and
is author of "More Than Once Upon A Time" and "Betsy's Sunday School
Bible Classics" (children's books for adults) as well as the blog
"Ethel's Law."
Betsy's Sunday School Bible Classics is an Award-Winning Finalist in
the Humor category of the "Best Books 2010" Awards, sponsored by USA

LARRY-BOB ROBERTS
Larry-bob Roberts brings the spirit of Do It Yourself creativity to
the queer world. Writing about his new book from Manic D Press, "The
International Homosexual Conspiracy," the SF Weekly called him "the
Stephen Colbert of queer culture." He started the zine Holy Titclamps
in 1989, and for over a decade has maintained the SF Bay Area queer
cultural calendar Queer Things To Do aka SFQueer.com. He co-hosts the
monthly open mic Smack Dab at Magnet in the Castro with Kirk Read.
The International Homosexual Conspiracy is contains 88 short essays on
a range of topics (not all of them queer-related).
Alternately sardonic and heart-felt, this written variety show
reflects a viewpoint interrogating the cultural mainstream.

JAMES "CLAM" LYNCH
Clam is a professional and lifelong artist with a wide range of skills
and experience including performance artist, comedian, the development
of children's programming, authoring of children's books, production
designer for film and t.v. as well as theater and large art
insulations which he has designed and constructed . he also teaches
art to children in his free time. after working on the creation of a
television show based on a character developed from several successful
thearter runs , he is now focusing on his artwork and paintings and
the creation 63Bluxome Street Gallery with his brother Mike.
He authored the children's book, "RUBY GLOOMS KEYS TO HAPPINESS", He's
written and performed his one man comedy show entitled "Cut the Crap"
about a motivational speaker with his own "life" issues for a four
month run at the Steve Allen Theater in Los Angeles and has performed
in numerous appearances including the Tom Green show, Roseanne Barr's
"Blond and Bitching" DVD, and the Air America radio show.

NICK LEONARD
Nick Leonard performs stand up, improv and sketch comedy in the Bay
Area, around the US and around the world including NYU and the
Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He's taught at The Hyena Comedy Institute,
BATS' Laughing Stock, Too Many Larry's Summer School and Jim Cranna's
Workshops. He's performed excerpts from his solo show "I'm from
Queens" at the Marsh Theatre, Jon Sims Center For The Arts and the SF
Solo Festival. He produces the "Qcomedy Showcase" , San Francisco's
longest running queer and queer friendly comedy show, now in it's 11th
year. As a cartoonist has regularly contributed to many publications
Holy Titclamps, Baby Split Bowling News, Strange Looking Exile,
BoyCrazyBoy, Boy Trouble and the Best Of Boy Trouble
