Greg Youmans will discuss his research into important but lesser-known figures from the Bay Area queer past, including his recent projects around radical writer and activist Tede Matthews and pioneering poetess Elsa Gidlow. Rare photographs, video clips, and anecdotes will abound. Youmans will also discuss the importance of moving history out of the archives, for both scholars and audiences.
