DESCRIPTION:
BB KING MEETS YO-YO MA... That's DIRTY CELLO!

Led by Rebecca Roudman, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most exciting crossover cellists, Dirty Cello presents a high energy mix of soulful blues, swingin' gypsy jazz and wild Euro-gypsy dance music.

Having shared the stage with Carlos Santana, Elvis Costello, Isaac Hayes, Joan Baez and many more exceptional performers, Rebecca Roudman leads the Dirty Cello band which has performed in China to sold out audiences, and at many other exciting venues including the House of Blues (Voodoo Lounge), the Hard Rock Cafe (Oahu and Maui) and tours to Hawaii, L.A./San Diego and Oregon.

Either as a classy duo, (cello and guitar) or as a hard rockin' band with a full rhythm section, violin and singer, Dirty Cello presents a clap along, danceable mix of music that puts a unique spin on common genres. Whether wailing out the blues with virtuosic skill, getting toes tapping with some gypsy jazz or flying through wild Euro-gypsy music, the Dirty Cello band presents a show that fans and critics have described as, "Amazing!" and "Inspiring."

As classically trained musicians who also love to rock out, the Dirty Cello band puts on a unique performance that shows a whole new side to the cello.

They're here in a rare performance (and a crazy low price) as part of this summer's Pop-up Concerts for a Cause. This is rocking music for all ages, so families are welcome.

Centers for Spiritual Living-Ashbury Heights is honored to partner with Pop-Up to raise funds for LYRIC (Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center), which supports our LGBTQQ youth.

LYRIC's mission is to build community and inspire positive social change through education enhancement, career trainings, health promotion, and leadership development with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ) youth, their families, and allies of all races, classes, genders, and abilities.
