What: WRITERS WITH DRINKS!
Featuring: Adam Johnson, Kim Stanley Robinson, Douglas Lain, Kim Wong Keltner and Dennis McFarland
Location: The Make Out Room, 3225 22nd. St., San Francisco
Admission: $5 to $10 sliding scale, all proceeds benefit the CSC

About the writers/readers:

Adam Johnson won the Pulitzer Prize in 2013, along with an NEA fellowship, a Whiting Writers Award, a Kingsbury Fellowship and a Stegner Fellowship. His books include The Orphan Master's Son, Parasites Like Us, and Emporium.

Kim Stanley Robinson's latest book is Shaman. His other books include 2312, Galileo's Dream, the Mars Trilogy, the Years of Rice and Salt, Antarctica, the Science in the Capital series, and the Three Californias trilogy. Robinson's novels have won 11 major science fiction awards, including multiple Hugos and Nebulas, plus the World Fantasy Award, the John W. Campbell Award and the Locus Award.

Dennis McFarland's latest novel is the Civil War novel Nostalgia. His previous novels include Letter from Point Clear, Prince Edward, Singing Boy, A Face at the Window, School for the Blind and The Music Room. He has won an NEA fellowship and a Stegner Fellowship.

Kim Wong Keltner's books include Buddha Baby, The Dim Sum of All Things, I Want Candy and Tiger Babies Strike Back.

Douglas Lain is the author of Billy Moon, a novel about Christopher Milne, the real-life inspiration for Christopher Robin in the Winnie the Pooh stories. Lain's other works include the "bizarro fiction" volume Wave of Mutilation and the Diet Soap zine and podcast.
