And then one day, a gay latino showed up and brought us the funny, the dance moves, and then we didn’t see him for a while. And then he came back and signed up, but Baruch was so stressed that day, he accidentally skipped him, and then he didn’t come back for a while. now for our FEATURE

JESÚS FUENTES embraces performance of all kinds: Acting, dancing, improv, standup comedy, poetry, stripping – it’s all good girl! Born and raised right here in the Bay Area, Jesús began performing Mexican Folklorico dance at the age of 14. He later transitioned into acting with his breakthrough performance as Shark #7 in City College of SF’s production of West Side Story. From there Jesús has had the pleasure of working as a performer with outstanding Bay Area companies and performance venues such as Teatro Visión, Dance Mission, and the New Conservatory Theatre’s YouthAware Program. Recently Jesús was cast as Victor in the film, East Side Sushi. The film won the Audience Favorite Award for the CAAM and Cinequest film festivals, respectively. Jesus’s love for laughter and celebrating life inspired him to attempt performing standup comedy at an open mic, which proved to be a terrifying experience that he said hell to the NO more! But after a couple years Jesús couldn’t resist and in August 2012 he attended his first SF Queer Open Mic to attempt standup comedy yet again, and has been pursuing it since. Thus, to be asked to feature at the Queer Open Mic is beyond an honor for Jesús. Bring your plate and a bib cause he’s ready to serve. He has perform in comedy venues all over California, and recently won the Performance Slam at Tourettes Without Regrets.

SEE YOU THERE, BRING YOUR FRIENDS!!!
