Don Pyle punk photos at 1234 Go! Records in Oakland

1234 Go! Records in Oakland, from May 2 – 10, 2014.

Photographed by musician and producer Don Pyle (Black Heel Marks/Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet) from age 14 in the summer of 1976, Trouble In The Camera Club's photographs present a unique and rare perspective on the sorely under-documented Toronto scene. Canada’s premiere bands of the new breed – The Ugly, The Curse, Teenage Head, Viletones, Diodes, D.O.A. are shown at their earliest gigs, alongside candid moments of street scenes, friends and foreign dignitaries – including the first local performances of Ramones, Dead Boys, Iggy Pop solo, Blondie, The Clash and more.

Pyle’s photographs will be exhibited at 1234 Go! Records in Oakland, from May 2 – 10, 2014.

free and wheelchair accessible.

Trouble In The Camera Club is published by ECW Press and features 300 photographs, over 200 period graphics, essays by DP and introduction by Viletones vocalist Steven Leckie. Full colour, 8 x 10.
