Free: Junkstock in Golden Gate ParkThis year's Junkstock party will be held on July 10th from 11am-5pm in Golden Gate Park, at Marx Meadow. Junkstock is an absolutely FREE, family friendly event. More performers are signing on! Here's the current list. We will feature an acoustic stage with great performers who encompass the vision that instruments, composition and performance come from, sometimes, unexpected places. The day will include workshops—take things out of your recycle bin and make your own instruments or make household or hardware store items sing (or clank whatever the case may be)! Our mission: No matter how much money or how much musical training you have, you can be a musician. We strive to shatter the myth that creating music is an elite pursuit; whether you play a plastic bucket or a thousand dollar guitar, expressing yourself and your soul through sound is what it's all about. We want all who attend Junkstock to leave empowered by the fact that they can play an instrument, whether it's a voice, a guitar or a tuna can. Age Requirement: 0+
