Ava Apple was one of the first to teach "Same Sex Salsa" classes in SF, holding weekly classes at the Jon Sims Center for several years, and monthly parties at the Metronome Ballroom. She has taught and performed many styles of dance for over 25 years locally and internationally. John Uetz started his Salsa adventures in Ava's classes, then went on to perform with Symbolic Mambo & The Latin Symbolics at several Salsa & Bachata congresses throughout California.
