The Tede Matthews Initiative Presents: Going It Solo: The Basics of Developing a One-Person-Show Led by Meliza BañalesThe Tede Matthews Initiative Presents: Going It Solo: The Basics of Developing a One-Person-Show Led by Meliza Bañales When: Sunday, January 10, 17, 24, 31
Cost: $40-$60 for the whole month's workshops! Limited sliding-scale spots available- call or visit the store. In this four week course, participants will learn and develop the basic framework for putting on their own one-person shows. Most folks have only an idea, while others want to do millions of things in their show. Some want to utilize multi-media while others want to develop their performance skills and rely on narrative, monologue, and/or spoken-word. This course will help ground artists into getting to the core of their ideas, help them develop them, and discuss logistics behind putting up such a production. Going it solo can be scary and overwhelming, but it can also be transformative and empowering. This workshop will help artists move past their fear and dive into some real creative territory, while also developing a reliable framework to go on. Every week involves at least 30 minutes of writing or sketching the framework of our shows.
