CA, 94103 - Civic Center Bart station) Presented by Queer@CIIS with POC@CIIS & AWARE. - "Brother Outsider: The life of Bayard Rustin (2003, 83 minutes, Nancy Kates, Benett Singer) Bayard Rustin organized the 1963 March on Washington, brought Ghandi's protest techniques to the American Civil Rights Movement and helped mold Martin Luther King Jr. into an international symbol of peace and nonviolence. He was threatened, beaten, imprisoned and fired, largely because he was an openly gay man.
