Many have seen the HBO special "Grey Gardens," and have knowledge about Edith Beale; however, "Edie Beale Live at Reno Sweeney," recreates the now infamous nightclub performance of Ms. Beale, of Grey Garden's fame, in New York City in 1978. Written by Duval, who managed and produced a cabaret act by Edith Beale, the show recreates the essence of those magical nights at the New York City nightclub using dialogue, songs, and text from the historic event and conversations that took place following the 1978 appearance. This special engagement run stars Ganymede Arts' artistic director, Jeffrey Johnson as Beale. Also in the cast are Michael Winstead and Keith Tittermary. The upcoming San Francisco shows are Edie's first West Coast performance before she heads south to Los Angeles to perform at Show at Barre. Sandra Bernhard has said that "Jeffrey Johnson's "Little Edie Beale" is Flawless!" While the Washington City Paper stated, "Johnson's Little Edie is both grand and gratifying!" And the director of the original Grey Gardens documentary, Albert Maysles praised Jeffrey's performance as "Excellent. Pure perfection. Truly astonishing!"
