Reminder: Bucky Sinister and KM Soehnlein at K'vetsh queer open mic... @ Sun Mar 6 7:30pm - 10pm (Queer Things)

Bucky Sinister and KM Soehnlein at K'vetsh queer open mic at Eros

Good Day Citizens of the World.

Welcome to March. Have you been catching the Crocuses? Daffodils? Plum trees blooming? I have no love for a fruit tree but you know I love Petals on the Wind (not as much as Flowers in the Attic though). This month we have some spectacular man times at the gay bath house where EVERY GENDER is welcome. We have two features, Bucky and Karl. You can be clothed or naked. Rich or poor. Smart or smarter. You can take this jog and shove it.

If There Be Thorns:

Bucky Sinister has written three books of poetry, one of which also contained some short stories. His work was included in The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry. He states: "If I had to categorize myself, I'd call myself a street poet. My main poetic influences are Charles Bukowski, Jimmy Santiago Baca, Miguel Pinero, and Sherman Alexie."

AND!

K.M. Soehnlein is author of The World of Normal Boys (2000), which won the Lambda Literary Award and has been optioned for film by San Francisco directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (tellingpictures.com); and You Can Say You Knew Me When (2005). His currently follow up to Normal Boys, Robin and Ruby, was published in 2009. Recent publications include essays in the anthologies Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys and Boys to Men: Gay Men Write About Growing Up. He teaches creative writing in the MFA Program in Writing at the University of San Francisco (USF). He lives in S.F.'s SoMa district with his partner, Kevin Clarke.

Hosted by your siblings-in-love, Kirk Read and Tara Jepsen.

This Sunday, March 6th. 7:30 open mic sign-ups, 8:00 show. Always on time! Open mic people are welcome to present one piece of less than five minutes, or five minutes of a longer piece. Two pieces? No. Medleys? Check with me (Kirk can't be trusted to be firm). BUT PROBABLY NOT. The admission is $3 to $5. We are comfortable saying that is an incredible deal. You must be 18 or over to regard the dong throng inside Eros. Please feel free to dress in a tiny white towel for the show. Eros is located at 2051 Market St. at 14th St. in San Francisco. There are a couple little coolers with non-alcoholic beverages for sale, including Fresca and Muscle Milk.
