About Lauren: Lauren Quock is a Chinese American artist who was born and raised in San Francisco. She uses art to lift up the experiences of her communities and transform tools of oppression. The Modified Bathroom Signs series featured in this exhibition calls into question the universal meaning of symbols and exposes the limited nature of the gender binary. Through this work, Lauren creates safe spaces for queer communities who exist beyond the gender binary. She will be facilitating two Art & Healing workshops during Wellness Wednesdays at CUAV as part of the exhibition. Learn more about her work on her website at http://www.laurenquock.com.
