No Straight Lines queer comics anthology launch at Cartoon Art MuseumThe S.F. Cartoon Art Museum is proud to host the launch party for No Straight Lines: Four Decades of Queer Comics, a massive anthology of LGBTQ comics, edited by Justin Hall and published by Fantagraphics Books! Queer cartooning has been one of the most vibrant artistic and countercultural movements of the last 40 years, tackling complex issues of identity and changing social mores with intelligence, humor, and an irreverent imagination. No Straight Lines now collects the full spectrum of this broad movement; it started, however, as a show at the Cartoon Art Museum back in 2006, and so this release party brings the project full circle! The launch will feature readings from editor Justin Hall, Burton Clarke (Gay Comix), MariNaomi (Kiss and Tell), Robert Triptow (Gay Comix), and Mary Wings (Come Out Comix), plus keep your eyes peeled for other surprise guests. Free and open to the public! Cartoon Art Museum, 655 Mission Street, San Francisco, California
