Mark I Chester photography at Wicked GroundsWicked Grounds will host Folsom Exposed!, a retrospective exhibit of Mark I Chester's photographs from September 15th thru the end of November. The opening at Wicked Grounds, at 289 8th St. in San Francisco, is Saturday, September 15th from 7-10pm, on the artist's 62nd birthday. To celebrate his birthday and his 25th year of exhibiting his art during the annual Folsom St. Fair. Mark will do a slide show talk on his work from 7-8pm at Wicked Grounds during the opening. San Francisco gay radical sex photographer Mark I Chester will be exhibiting selections of his fine art black and white photographs.from the late 1970s until 2001. Mark's photographs constitute a dark erotic diary of his life in San Francisco's sexual underground during the last 3-1/2 decades. His work crosses normally exclusive artistic genres of social documentary work, fine art portraiture and sexual photography. Whether photographing a gay men with ks lesions, a leather jew wearing tefillin, or a man totally encased in leather, Mark's images remain a unique window into life during these tumultuous times in San Francisco.
