Free: Odd People Out Frameline film at RoxieRoxie, 16th and Valencia Frameline Encore returns to the Roxie Theater in August 2013! Frameline Encore hosts free community screenings during the months when we're not busy with the signature film festival. Join us as we revisit queer film favorites at the oldest continuously running theater in the United States. ODD PEOPLE OUT is a documentary about the process of marginalization, repression and denial of the gay community during the first two decades of the Cuban Revolution, through the eyes and voice of Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas.
A mother tells her son that her greatest loves have been women. She recounts the story of raising two daughters left behind after the death of their mother, one of Gladys' former lovers. Shot clandestinely in Havana, GLADYS, A CUBAN MOTHER depicts the poignant experience of a lesbian mother living in a society driven by machismo.
