Queer Contra Dance Camp registrations will be taken at the February 6 dance -- the LAST DAY for DISCOUNT FEES. Join us for a blissful weekend of dance in the redwoods! More info: http://www.camp.queercontra.org By day, dedicated research scientist Dr. Lynn Ackerson toils in the Dept. of Epidemiology and Biostatistics . . . but by night, she dons psychedelic socks, revs her mic and transforms into one of the finest (and pizazziest) callers around. The good doctor concocts her elixir of fun and euphoria this Saturday, with the fiddle and keyboard artistry of Chris Knepper and Noel Cragg. With our February 6 dance, we introduce CONTRA CAFE -- a post-dance social hour at Hum Hall, 10:00-11:00 pm, when you can wind down and get to know the fine folk with whom you've been swinging. Sit and enjoy the snacks and endlessly interesting personalities who frequent Queer Contra. (We plan to make this an on-going event, so if you have tablecloths, candles or anything else atmospheric to donate, please bring them along.) BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME . . . so please tell your friends! 7:00 is the best time for newcomers as we start with simple dances and build from there.
