A facilitated intergenerational discussion group

(this is not a community initiative sponsored event)
The discussion will be jump-started with the reading of excerpts from 2-books:
"Loving Someone Gay" by Don Clark, Ph.D.; and,
"OUT In All Directions, The Almanac of Gay and Lesbian America, edited by Lynn Witt, Sherry Thomas, and Eric Marcus.
Today's DISCUSSION will involve young LGBT individuals in a Q & A session where:
1. Young people ask questions of seniors re: history of movement, etc; and,
2. Senior LGBT ask what is it like being young and LGBT today, etc.
• Ask questions of young LGBT
• Answer questions of young LGBT
• Share the history
• Reflect and contrast conditions for today's LGBT youth
• Consider what cultural and community services were known to you then and what's available to young people today
• How has life experiences for young LGBT changed?
Please bring your contribution in the form of other book suggestions or articles to share.
Facilitator: Njoroge (ja row gay) Carver Tho-Biaz, M.A., is committed to projects and services that support personal transformation, diversity and life long learning.
Njoroge is a seasoned professional with over 30 years experience in Human Services and Education. He has created and facilitated more than 200 educational workshops to educators, parents and youth. Today's Discussion Group Topic is an opportunity to provide awareness as well as to learn.
