Join 42nd Street Moon as we delve into the hidden, and sometimes not so hidden, LGBT culture inherent in much of the Golden Age of Broadway (and alive and well today!) Find out the influence that both openly and closeted gay, lesbian, and bisexual writers, directors, and stars had in shaping these musicals, and how 42nd Street Moon is helping to continue their legacy. Before each second Friday performance, we will gather at a local Jackson Square eatery (close to the theater), enjoy a cocktail and some hors d'oeuvres, and engage in a lively discussion. UC Berkeley Professor DA Miller, a noted LGBT scholar and literary critic, will help us uncover the who, what, when, and where of all things campy and coded in 42nd Street Moon's first two shows of the 18th season: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Murder for Two, A Killer Musical.
