Reminder: Black Christmas at the Castro hosted by Alonso Duralde @ Thu Dec 9 9pm - 10pm (Queer Things)

Black Christmas at the Castro hosted by Alonso Duralde

BLACK CHRISTMAS 9:05
The other holiday favorite from A Christmas Story director Bob Clark is this seminal slasher film, released years before John Carpenter made us even more afraid of Halloween. In the terrifying Black Christmas, a group of sorority sisters are preparing for their holiday break -- but who's making those creepy obscene phone calls? And why do the girls keep disappearing? Clark ratchets up the suspense while also including some mordant humor (thanks mostly to Margot Kidder's hilarious turn as a jaded rich girl), with twists that will keep you gasping all the way to the final shot! Still creepy after all these years. Starring Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Andrea Martin. 1974 | 98 min | 35mm
