Tribute for Vicki Marlane at Aunt Charlie's LoungeFrom the B.A.R.: Friends of the late Vicki Marlane invite community members to stop by Aunt Charlie's Lounge, 133 Turk Street in San Francisco on Thursday, July 5 at 5 p.m. to commemorate the one-year anniversary of her passing. Ms. Marlane died July 5, 2011 of AIDS-related complications at the age of 76. Ms. Marlane was a well-known performer, and earned the nickname "The Lady with the Liquid Spine" for her performance moves. She was an out transgender woman who started a drag revue at Aunt Charlie's in 1998. She was a community grand marshal of the San Francisco LGBT Pride Parade in 2003. For Thursday's memorial, there will be a showing of the documentary about her, Forever's Gonna Start Tonight .
