more details » film: Sneak Peek of Big Joy at Ninth Street Independent Film Center, Sisters Roma and Merry Peter co-host a special "Sneak Peek" of "Big Joy," a documentary about the life of San Francisco-based queer poet, activist and filmmaker James Broughton who was also known as our beloved Sister Sermonetta of the Flying Phallus and is one of the Nuns of the Above having passed away in 1999. This fundraiser will help the movie's production team take the documentary to film festivals around the world in 2013, the 100th anniversary of Sister Sermonetta's birth.
