That first poem you read that changed your world, blew your mind, made you fall in love with poetry, maybe even made you want to be a writer? WE DO! And in honor of National Poetry month GuyWriters is teaming up with The San Francisco Queer Open Mic to come together and celebrate poetry with a poetry festival and open mic! 3 days, 3 different gay venues, 3 awesome line ups!! With your sexy hosts, and co -curators Baruch Porras-Hernandez and James J. Siegel these events are going to be chop full of gay, queer, poetic energy. At each show we will have a featured readers and headlining authors who will each read the first poem they fell in love with, then show us some of their own work. Special guest representing the San Francisco Queer Open Mic will be Blythe Baldwin, to help facilitate the open mics, that will happen at each reading. If you wanna come and sign up with us, come early and see if you can get on the list, there will be limited room, and we might do a lottery to keep things fair, but some enjoy the poetry either way!
