Stay Gold now at Public WorksSTAY GOLD: hella gay dance jamz 4th Wednesdays $3 before 11pm, $5 after Resident DJs: Pink Lightning & Rapid Fire Delicious Dance Surprises by: kelly lovemonster, lil miss hotmess and more! Calling all homos, queers, gayz, lezzies, butches, trannies, twinks, dandies, daddies, fatties, femmes, faggots and friends for a night of white hot cruising and solid gold dancing. What started 5 years ago as a DIY dive-y dance club that felt more like a house party than a nightclub quickly became what is now one of San Francisco’s most beloved and packed queer dance nights, Stay Gold. Along with rotating guest DJs each month, residents Pink Lightning and Rapid Fire play all of your favorite gay dance jams from hip-hop to 90s. People can’t help but sing along with their friends, find a hottie to make out with, or lose themselves grinding on the dance floor to hit after hit. For five years, month after month, Stay Gold has brought together hundreds of queers and their friends for a wild time that leaves everyone wanting more. Regardless of venue, it is the faithful and adored party go-goers that make this event what it is.

Reminder: Meditation Group at Hormel Center at SF Main Library @ Wed Apr 30, 2014 12pm - 12:45pm (Queer Things)
Meditation Group at Hormel Center at SF Main LibraryEvery Wednesday, 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM Meditation Group If you believe the days of quiet in the Library are gone forever, a weekly meditation group is reclaiming the calm. While computers, cell phones, laptops and other distractions have made silence seemingly scarce, the timeless tradition of meditation is available to all of us. While we cannot always control our environment, we can work with our minds to temper the internal noise and redirect habitual thought patterns. Meditation on the breath can promote inner peace and connectedness with others. Each meditation period lasts about 30 minutes and there is time for questions. Sounds of the Tibetan bell signal the beginning and end of the period. The group is led by Librarian Karen Sundheim, who has practiced Buddhist meditation for over 35 years. This group is secular and appropriate for people of all backgrounds and faiths, including atheists. Focus is on developing centeredness in the body, calmness of mind, and a compassionate view of oneself and others. Hormel Gay and Lesbian Center. Main Library Third Floor.
