Reminder: At Eros: K'vetsh queer open mic @ Sun Apr 4 7:30pm - 10pm (Queer Things)

At Eros: K'vetsh queer open mic

Featuring Beth Pickens and Melissa Febos.

Who are they and also who is anyone???

Beth Pickens moved from Columbia, Missouri, where her business was feminism, to San Francisco, where her business is queer art. As part of National Novel Writing month she completed the first draft of her first novel, A Prophet for Girls, in under thirty days. She pays the bills booking tours for Sister Spit and managing the annual National Queer Arts Festival, and other such righteous tasks. She is also the founder of San Francisco Food Adventure Club, wherein daring foodies eat durian fruit, visit oyster farms, bake croissants and try to hustle placenta off new mothers. She lives in the mission with her girlfriend (a poet), their dog, (a delusional heiress), and their cat (a cat).

And!!

Melissa Febos graduated from The New School University, spent four years working as a professional dominatrix, and received an MFA in writing from Sarah Lawrence College. She has now lived in Brooklyn for over a decade. She curates and hosts the popular monthly music and reading series, Mixer, on the Lower East Side, and teaches writing and literature at SUNY Purchase College and the Gotham Writers' Workshop. Her essays, stories, journalism, and the occasional poem have been published widely, and her memoir, Whip Smart, was published by St. Martin's Press/Thomas Dunne Books in March 2010.

Hosted by people who love too much, Kirk Read and Tara Jepsen.

This Sunday, April 4th. 7:30 open mic sign-ups, 8:00 show. Always on time! Open mic people are welcome to present one piece of less than five minutes, or five minutes of a longer piece. Two pieces? No. Medleys? Check with me. BUT PROBABLY NOT. The admission is $3 to $5. We are comfortable saying that is an incredible deal. You must be 18 or over to regard the dong throng inside Eros. Please feel free to dress in a tiny white towel for the show. Eros is located at 2051 Market St. at 14th St. in San Francisco. There are a couple little coolers with non-alcoholic beverages for sale, including Fresca and Muscle Milk.
