Also on deck: Yayne Abeba, a powerfully hilarious lady with roots in Ethiopia and Haight -Asbury, the funny talker and writer Bucky Sinister whose books include "All Blacked Out & Nowhere To Go," the short, angry, and clever smasher of Asian stereotypes Tessie Chua, and Loren Kraut queen of the obsessive-compulsive one-liner. Marga was named "Best Comedian 2009 and 2008" by the readers of the SF Bay Guardian. Her television appearances include LOGO'S "One Night Stand-Up" and HBO's "Comic Relief." Besides a career in stand-up comedy and theater Gomez has taken to producing the occasional fabulous comedy event with the best and brightest comics in the Bay Area. She was the original booker and promoter for "Harvey's Funny Tuesdays," a popular weekly gay-friendly comedy showcase in the Castro ,now in it's second year. Marga is a Latina who can't dance but loves to party. For much of her long comedic career Marga has noticed a lack of sexy music at comedy clubs and at dance clubs she was the only one laughing. "Marga's Laugh Party" is her attempt to create the perfect night by mixing the hottest acts in comedy with DJ Sammy Franco's booty shaking jams . For more about Marga visit http://www.margagomez.wordpress.com ABOUT W. Kamau Bell - Special Guest Margaret Cho has praised W. Kamau bell as "The Most important guy doing comedy right now!" His groundbreaking show "The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour," enjoyed a long run in San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley, and played to full houses in 2009 at the New York International Fringe Festival. In May "The Curve" will return to New York City as a featured part of TerraNova Collective's 7th Annual SoloNova Festival. Time Out New York said, "Happily, Bell finds comic gold in the wide range of material he mines, offering provocative insights into an ugly reality. FOUR STARS" The San Francisco Weekly honored Kamau as the Comedian of the Year in 2008 and also profiled him in a cover story in 2009. Kamau told the very first joke about Barack Obama on Comedy Central's Premium Blend 2005and for that Kamau made that network's list of "Best 100 Obama Moments." "Face Full of Flour" Kamau's long awaited comedy CD was released this month and will be available at "Marga's Laugh Party." Writing in the East Bay Express Rachel Swan had this to say about Kamau's debut CD. "Bell's ability to veer from the banal to the bizarre is one of his big selling points. But he's not really an absurdist in the traditional sense — he's more of a political junky who sees everything through a racial lens. He reads online news voraciously, synthesizes information quickly, and tries to comment on it before the pundits weigh in. His Facebook status updates are always worth reading. He'll tweet from the stage. He'll pause midway through a Tyler Perry joke so that white people in the audience can take out their iPhones and look up "Tyler Perry" on Wikipedia. He's just the sort of comedian who should thrive in the age of social networking: fast, pointed, personal without divulging too much, good at impersonating black celebrities, and even better at impersonating their white hecklers." His comedy CD is available on I tunes. It's called What Happens in Narnia Stays in Narnia. Here's what WFMU had to say "Bucky Sinister, a shadowy, Bukowskian figure who's loomed over town for a while, and his debut CD "What Happens In Narnia, Stays In Narnia" is a journey through his inner psychoses via perplexing segments with titles like "My Date With Laura Ingalls."Sinister's approach finds himself propped up in a manner not unlike the late great Bill Hicks, a refreshing literacy missing in a lot of so-called indie comedy (so it's probably worth mentioning Bucky's penned a bunch of books too). He sounds like someone who's spent a lot of time recuperating from godknowswhat on the past's punk circuit (something he sounds well versed in), crawling his way out of a pit of fellow rehab zombies immersed in trash TV. His observations reel off in the form of angry spittle and get downright speedfreaky at times, he's a compelling and funny listen and quite different."
