All that, and Bauhaus, too! Dir: Tony Scott. Starring David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve, Susan Sarandon & Ann Magnuson. 1983, USA, Digital, 97 mins., 7pm
NADJA
Trading '80s high-fashion Goth sway for '90s narcoticized Shoegaze, the stylish and oddly touching New York City vampire film Nadja is an absurdly underappreciated gem from Michael Almereyda. Indebted equally to David Lynch (who produced the movie) and Hal Hartley (whose Amateur stars Elena Lowenstein and Martin Donovan also top the bill of Nadja), the film centers on a family of vampires coming to terms with the death of their patriarch. Meanwhile, Dr. Van Helsing (fresh out on parole after putting a stake through Dracula's heart!) has his sights set on them, and is closing in. Nadja also stars Peter Fonda (as Dr. Van Helsing!) and David Lynch (as a morgue attendant!). It was partially shot on a Fischer-Price Pixel Vision camera. The soundtrack has just a metric ton of My Bloody Valentine on it. Can you believe you haven't seen this thing?! Dir: Michael Almereyda, Starring: Elena Lowenstein, Peter Fonda and Martin Donovan. 1994, USA, 35mm, 93 mins., 9:30pm
