more details » Occupy SF benefit at Salsa Sundays at El Rio Since the start of things, it has been El Rio's mission to create community space. Beginning earlier this summer El Rio has made our famed Salsa Sundays a fundraising opportunity for groups including the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club, Rocket Dog Rescue, Prison Activist Resource Center, Lyon Martin and CUAV and this Sunday, October 23rd we are proud to be hosting a benefit for the brave folks at #OCCUPYSF. http://occupysf.com/ El Rio will DONATE ALL DOOR PROCEEDS FROM 3-4PM to Occupy SF and will also MATCH THE TOTAL COLLECTED AT THE DOOR in this hour to double the resources we will be sending the occupiers. Be sure to come early, hungry & ready to dance! **After speaking with OWS participants we've updated with their most recent supply needs** Additionally all day on Sunday El Rio will be collecting donations of goods that we will be delivering to Occupy SF participants. From 1-9pm on Sunday the 23rd we will take any and all donations for the protesters. Their current list of top needs as requested on their website includes: deep marine batteries, a grill, cots, temroses, coolers, sleeping bags, clothing, tarps, tents, water, coffee, Technology (Laptops, USB Keyboards, Flash Drives, and Video Equipment), Kitchen Supplies ( Ladels, Tongs, Jugs, Sporks, Other), sleeping bags and clothing.
