Faetopia is in the long vacant Tower Records, next to Cafe Flore at Market St & Noe St (2286 Market St, to be exact)

In the spirit of the pioneering gay bar, the Black Cat, join songstress Shakey Gibson and acclaimed pianist Joe Wicht for an evening of comraderie, revelry and, of course, singing! Tunes both classic and contemporary will play through the air as the faggots and their friends enjoy an evening of gay song and dance.

Shakey Gibson has been named the "Mike Ward, Emerging Artist of 2011″, An actor, vocalist, poet, songwriter, musician, dancer, celebrity impersonator, conceptual visual performance artist and gender illusionist, he brings his vast talent to cabarets all over San Francisco. Joe Wicht is a composer and arranger who works with cabaret singers, theatres and chamber soloists. He hosts the Monday night"Piano Bar 101″ at Martunis in San Francisco.

Faetopia is a pop-up queer arts, ecology, theater and community center. For the week before San Francisco Pride, over 50 artists and collaborators will create a visionary space for the gay community in the long vacant Tower Records, next to Cafe Flore at Market St & Noe St (2286 Market St, to be exact). During the day, Faetopia will host workshops, meditations, teach-ins and heart circles. At night, the arts reign supreme with theater, burlesque, queer cinema, sexy book releases and, of course, plenty of drag.

We've created several different sections representing the main aspects of Faetopia: Visual Arts, Ecology, Sex, Performing Arts, History and Community. There's a lot happening with each area, so take the time explore online the vast rainbow of events and art rocking the Castro all week!
