* Poor and working class communities of color and the lands we've lived on have had exposure to toxic chemicals from war/colonization, factories, mining, environmental racism, etc. For some of us, this results in a neurological illness that some folks call Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Chemical Injury, Environmental Illness or Gulf War Syndrome. The US government doesn't recognize this illness, but it's real: Continued exposure to certain chemicals, even ones from perfume, hair spray, nail polish, can cause seizures or worse. That means folks with this illness often are shut out of most event spaces. We want to fight that isolation and welcome sick and disabled QTPOC in our spaces. We need your help to do it.

Please do your best to refrain from the following before or during the event:
* Smoking;
* Wearing colognes, perfumes or scented oils
* using chemical based laundry detergents or fabric softeners.

Please wear something that has had limited exposure to the items above. If you must smoke, please try using e-cigarettes, or changing clothes, washing your hands and rinsing your mouth after smoking and let people know you've smoked so they can choose whether to risk getting sick. It isn't a perfect solution; cigarette chemicals still float through the air, but if you're going to smoke, please take the steps above. If you have q's or concerns, send us a private message; we're down to think through this more w/ you.
