His paintings and collage have received acclaim in national and international art venues, and his ubiquitous graphic work has made him a staple on the international design scene. His biomorphic shapes pull from a 1950's aesthetic while grounded in an expressionistic lineage, resulting in lush, playfully sophisticated abstract compositions. Ray's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions worldwide including The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, University Art Museum in Berkeley, San Jose Museum of Modern Art, The Crocker Museum in Sacramento, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver and Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions.
