The New York Times calls him "...Delicious", "...at the top of his game", "...truly talented." The Arizona Daily Star calls him "luscious" and you'll call yourself "lucky" to catch the San Francisco debut of "Randy Roberts LIVE" at The Alcove Theatre on Union Square. Spend an evening with female impersonator extraordinaire Randy Roberts. Mr. Roberts is famous for his incredible impersonations of "Bette Midler", "Joan Rivers", "Mae West", "Cher" (an act the New York Times calls "...spot on ') and many more. Randy closes every show with his signature lounge act! Not only will you be visually dazzled, but you'll be amazed by his live vocal recreations.

Randy's been seen on the Las Vegas Strip in Boy-Lesque at the Sahara Hotel and Casino and the Stardust Hotel and Casino, as well as An Evening At La Cage at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. Randy has been seen internationally in Hollywood Legends in the Copa Room at the Sands Hotel and Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico; in his one-man show Randy Roberts LIVE! at Ruby'z Cabaret in Bournemouth, England; and in Mascara at Xenon Music Hall in Madrid, Spain.

Randy's one man show Randy Roberts LIVE! has been a staple at the Post Office Cabaret, Crown and Anchor Cabaret, and the Art House Theater in Provincetown, MA. for many summers. He's the headliner in the Crystal Room Cabaret at Lateda in Key West, FL. He's a regular in clubs and theatres across the country.

Randy made his big screen debut in the award winning film "Any Day Now", starring Alan Cumming and made his network television debut on ABC TVs "One Life To Live".

Come spend an evening with "Cher", "Bette Midler", and Randy's signature lounge act, as female impersonator Randy Roberts fills The Alcove Theater with an evening of gorgeous costumes, the sharpest tongue south of the Mason Dixon line, and a voice that never fails to thrill.

About The Alcove Theater:
The Alcove Theater hosts a wide variety of entertainment: cabaret, improvisational theater and solo-performers; it is also home to New Musical Theater of San Francisco, a Bay Area theater company devoted to the development of original musical theater.

Reminder: Wilde Chats at Sweet Inspirations @ Sat Jun 29, 2013 10:30am - 11:30am (Queer Things)

Wilde Chats at Sweet Inspirations

Haven't had a really good meaningful conversation lately? Then come and explore Wilde Chats, one of The Community Initiative's most popular activities. Meeting at a variety of San Francisco's distinctive neighborhood cafes, a large diverse group of gay men explores topics and issues that are important to us as gay men. A great way to make new friends on a level that doesn't usually happen in bars or clubs.

Wilde Chats is a loosely structured community-driven group get together every Saturday morning to discuss specific issues affecting us as gay men and our gay community. The group is lead following a "Socratic" model; rather than talk about solutions and answers to problems, the idea is to expand on the days topic by analyzing it and breaking it up into other questions. The discussions typically focus on the hidden/unspoken assumptions, generalities and concepts that we as gay men make, and the differences that our various points of reference imply. Wilde Chats are currently taking place at the times and locations listed below.

Wilde Chats meets 10:30AM - 12:00PM Saturdays at Sweet Inspirations, 2239 Market Street between Sanchez and Noe.

Reminder: Gay Hist-Orgy Part 3: Mondo Mythological at Faetopia @ Fri Jun 28, 2013 10pm - 11:30pm (Queer Things)

Gay Hist-Orgy Part 3: Mondo Mythological at Faetopia

http://faetopia.com/schedule/friday-june-28/
Faetopia, next to Cafe Flore at Market St & Noe St (2286 Market St, to be exact).

In Mondo Mythological, his all-new multimedia one-man show, performance activist Ian MacKinnon brings the past to life by tracing the history of gay people in new ways never before seen on stage. With the aid of his magic time-traveling chaps and sexy Genie guide, Ian extends his Gay Hist-Orgy series to explore the world of homo-mythology.

The Gay Hist-Orgy is more than a show; it draws from the roots of gay liberation to reveal gayness as something unique, radical, and beautiful, with the potential to change the world for the better.

Mondo Mythological begins where part two of the Gay Hist-Orgy series ends but stands alone as an independent piece. Starting in Ancient Sumeria with The Epic of Gilgamesh Ian traces themes in gay world mythology from The Greeks to The Americas and beyond, all the while fighting assimilation in order to discover a new homosexual myth of meaning. It's a hot and horny evening of laughs and lust, fun and fucking, humor and heroism. Come take this sexy, wild, educational, and fun theatrical adventure!

Frameline: The Naturalist in Blood in the Grass short films at The Victoria

"The Naturalist," is a short film about a gay man living in a genetically modified society who is given the chance to alter his sexuality. He must weigh his loving relationship, his dignity and his survival in this short film that turns the notion of sexuality as "choice" on its head.

It screens this Friday at the historic Victoria Theater at 9:15pm as part of Frameline 37's "Blood in the Grass" shorts block.

http://ticketing.frameline.org/festival/film/detail.aspx?id=2855&FID=50

Our screening at Frameline 37 this Friday was recently profiled in The Daily Californian:
http://www.dailycal.org/2013/06/20/frameline37-festival-highlights-lgbt-films/

We've been gaining buzz on the festival circuit, recently winning the 'Spirit Award' for Narrative Short at the Brooklyn Film Festival.

World Premiere: Seattle International Film Festival
Puchon International Fantastic Festival: 'Puchon Choice' Section
Official Selection:
Palm Springs International Shortfest
Frameline San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival

Additionally, we've been dually posted in the Gay Voices and Arts & Culture Sections of the Huffington Post with an article about the inspiration for the film, which had viral success:
