Filmmakers flock to this city from around the world to be exposed to new experiences in the cinematic arts. This class will trace the evolution and early development of experimental filmmaking in the Bay Area from 1930 to 1950. Included in this class will be the films of gay rights pioneer Harry Hay, Sidney Peterson, James Broughton and Frank Stauffacher (founder of Art in Cinema).
