Glitter and Be Gay Night at 42nd Street Moon – ZorbaGlitter and Be Gay Night at 42nd Street Moon – Zorba
Friday, May 11, 6:30pm – 11pm
Join 42nd Street Moon and Berkeley Professor D.A. Miller as we explore the hidden and sometimes not so hidden messages in the works of Cole Porter, the Gershwins, Oscar Hammerstein, II, Kander and Ebb, and Bob Merrill. The next show of the season is Kander and Ebb's musical version of Zorba the Greek.
A rich, uncompromising musical salute to Greece – and the Spirit of Life! ZORBÁ celebrates life – the sound of a bouzouki, the taste of an olive, the scent of a woman – but also lost love, heartbreak and death. "Live life to the fullest until it's time to leave!" Featuring the songs: Life Is; The Butterfly; Only Love; Why Can't I Speak?; and I Am Free. WHEN: May 11, 2012 TIME: 6:30 PM WHERE: L'Olivier Restaurant, 465 Davis Street, San Francisco, CA 94111, then Eurkea Theatre (just around the corner) 215 Jackson Street, San Francisco CA 94111 TICKETS: $20-40 (subject to change) *Pre-show discussion and hors d'oeuvres are including in ticket price (no host bar).
