Queer Open Mic at Museum of Performance and Design

Hello QOMers! Summer's almost over, lets keep the fun going with another incredible Queer Open Mic show!
At The Museum of Performance and design is easy to get to from Civic Center Bart, is fully accessible and run by some lovely folks!

Some stuff about our awesome feature.

Joanna Hoffman
I've known about Joanna Hoffman and her work for a very long time and recently we were both finalist for the Write Bloody Poetry Contest! I'm very excited she will finally be joining us at the SFQOM. She is a spoken word poet originally from Silver Spring, MD and now living in Brooklyn. She has been on four National Poetry Slam teams. In 2006, she was on the DC/Baltimore team which ranked 4th in the nation. Since relocating to New York for grad school, she has joined the Spoken World Almanac Project and featured at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. In 2011, she represented Urbana at the Women of the World Poetry Slam, National Poetry Slam and Individual World Poetry Slam, placing in the top 10 at each. In 2012, she represented Louder Arts at the Women of the World Poetry Slam and placed 4th. She has been published in Spindle and as part of the recent GirlChild Press anthology, Women's Work and the Jewish lesbian poetry anthology Milk and Honey. When not performing poetry, she works at a non-profit organization and runs in Prospect Park.
