El Rio is located at 3158 Mission St. in San Francisco.

After a brief detour into French wines (ah, but they were good) we're back to the original plan… to bring you stellar wines on the patio of El Rio, focusing on urban, women and people of color winemakers.

On Friday, July 27th if you visit our "bar within a bar" you'll have the opportunity to drink organic wine as well.

"Spirit of the Andes" Sparkling Torrentés is made by a woman-owned winery in Argentina. This wine isn't just ORGANIC, it's sustainably grown and harvested, in line with the most progressive guidelines, ensuring delicious grapes, well-treated land and people.

If you're like me, you assume the wine will be bad then. But in fact it is quite good.

We'll also pour 2008 Chardonnay from Ceja Vineyards, an award-winning and exceptional bottle from the Mexican-American owned and operated winery in Carneros, Napa.

And join us in welcoming back Bayview's Gratta Wines to the patio with a redux of Gratta's newly released killer 2010 Dry Creek Cabernet from Sonoma.

As we are firming up the last offering, please stay in touch at www.mugsywinebar.tumblr.com

Come celebrate something – be part of the inner circle/wine club we are forming every two weeks on El Rio, your dive's patio.

Finite batch of free oysters at 5:30. Piadina (Italian flatbread sandwiches) starting at 6-ish.

Cheers, Granate Sosnoff (with two f's)

P.S. Working on "Fcking Merlot" to help bring Merlot back from it's small death from "Sideways." Should be August (either the 10th or 24th the subsequent dates for Mugsy's)...
